The Bio I am writing here is primarily for James Edward Stewart IV, however, because of the references to his spouse who is traveling with him as his nurse, it is also a rather brief guide to the NPC known as Henry Charles Mayhew-Stewart. As I'm sure you all noticed, I made a mistake and had the name as Windsor in my post...this was confusion caused by his mother's maiden name instead of his husband's bachelor name...LOL.
Name: James Edward Stewart IV
Position: Chief Medical Officer
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 31
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 151
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Physical Description: James Edward Stewart IV is a fairly typical person. His blonde hair and blue eyes tend to draw people in and bring them to him. He is slender and attractive in a way that seems to cause men and women alike to be attracted to him. He keeps his hair long enough to have bangs and to be able to sweep his hair behind his ears. He never lets it grow longer than roughly the base of his neck, and is very careful about how he cares for it. He tends to be very well kept in his appearance but is also known to wear beautiful jewelry that has his favorite stone, the amethyst.
Spouse: Henry Charles Mayhew-Stewart
Father: James Edward Stewart III
Mother: Elizabeth Marie Stewart (nee Windsor)
Brothers: Charles Alexander Stewart, Patrick William Stewart, Michael Bruce Stewart, Theodore Reginald Stewart
Sisters: Elizabeth Suzanne Stewart, Mary Alexandria Stewart, Louisa Maybelle Stewart, Charlene Gertrude Stewart, Kathleen Francis Stewart
General Overview: James is an outgoing and generous person so long as you are on his good side. He is extremely intimidating when he is working. He has an excellent bedside manner so long as the patient is cooperates with his treatment, when the patient is not cooperative, he is extremely pushy and intimidating. He is the first person to step up and say when something is wrong with someone's health and the last person to make any necessary changes into an order.
Strengths and Weaknesses: James tends to be a very strong willed individual. This works fantastically for him as a Doctor, but not so well in his interactions with those who are in positions of authority. He has very solid morals and abides by them at all times, even when it seems to disagree with those who are in power. He is forever trying to get his patients to settle down, relax and lead happier and healthier lives. It has started to wear on him because it seems impossible to get military men to do that, it almost seems as though happy and healthy lives are impossible in the military.
Ambitions: All James wants to do is to be the best damned doctor he can and find a cure for those illnesses which don't have cures yet. He certainly want to get a nice solid family life set up with his partner. Adopted children are one of their goals as a couple but it is unlikely to happen in the near future.
Hobbies and Interests: James enjoys cooking, swimming, playing backgammon, drinking wine, reading, writing, and doing many other things.
Personal History: James was born to the Stewart family. His family has an extraordinarily rich and famous heritage and history. James himself would be the Crown Prince of Modern Day Scotland if such countries still existed in their monarchical governments. Due to obvious changes in governments, he does not have such an opportunity, however, his ancestors did leave their wealth in trust funds. When the currency changed to the Credits which have been used by the Federation since a short time after its' inception, the ancient trust funds almost ceased to exist. It was only in the final drafted agreement for the unification of the Federation under one currency, that of the Credit, that such trust funds fortunately did not cease to exist. Instead, the Federation converted all current currency into the equivalent amount of Credits and established the system to act as it has ever since. Once the system was established, and once Credits were no longer used for anything except payment for luxuries or extremely intangible/non-essential things, the credits from the trust fund remained basically untouched.
Each generation has managed, under the eternal trust of the Stewart and Windsor ancestors, to still get their regular payments from the trust. They had little need or use for the money, but James has been known to occasionally tap his account in order to make some luxury purchases. In doing so, he and his husband have been able to lead a very comfortable life that leaves them wanting for nothing except for more time together.
James' mother was descended of the Anglo-Saxon German royal family that changed their name to Windsor after Earth's first World War. She would essentially have been the Princess Royal if the British Monarchy still existed. His father, as with him, would have been the Crown Prince of Scotland had that monarchy not become unified with the United Kingdom, and also had it survived into the Federation as well.
James himself had an immense love of his family's history, and even more of a love for the history of the ancient monarchies of Earth. Given his love for history it is surprising that he didn't become a historian, and yet even more fitting that he became a Doctor. In doing so, he was able to use his love and knowledge of history to keep not only a nice stash of modern medications but also a very nicely large collection of plants that have medicinal purposes, not just from Earth, but also from many other planets. He keeps that collection stored in the Aeroponic and Hydroponic bays wherever he lives or serves. He also keeps the ancient family castle well stocked with these plants growing on the grounds. Acres upon acres of plants on the castle grounds serve him very well in that anytime he goes home to visit, he brings back a massive stockpile of these plants and herbs.
Even larger portions of his history will become known only to those who take the time to get to know him. James and Henry are very good about keeping their private life private. They don't like mixing their private lives with their duty, however, they also enjoy the strength of their very solid relationship in the rare event that they are unable to be together due to short term missions or small ship capacities. the posting to the Liberator, hopefully, would have room for both of them given that it does appear to be a long-term assignment.
Unfortunately, due to an Engineering issue, the Liberator, while making it back into Federation space, suffered severe damages that rendered her uninhabitable and/or destroyed. Being among the few to make it to an escape pod and get off of the ship, James and Henry were found some weeks later by a passing ship on a routine patrol of the area. Apparently the Liberator had managed to get a distress signal out moments before she was finally rendered lifeless and/or destroyed. By this point, the escape pod had drifted far enough away that neither was ever truly sure if the ship had actually survived the incident.
After a few more weeks going through therapy for victims of shocking trauma, James and Henry found themselves reassigned to the USS Deimos, where James promptly took up his former hobbies and had even brought aboard some of his plants from the castle on Earth. His intention was to grow the plants in the hydroponic or airponic bays so that he could use them in herbal remedies as well as in the synthesis of medical treatments in the even of short supplies. He and Henry had lost everything they had had with them on the Liberator, and while it wasn't a great loss fiscally speaking, it had hit them as a hard blow because they had lost most of the beautiful decorations they had managed to accrue over the years as well as most of the memorabilia of their wedding, vacations, and even all of their family photos.
Both found themselves hoping that this new posting would prove to be more permanent, but neither one dared to say anything about it.
