She possesses surprising strength thanks to her Romuvulcan heritage and has mild telepathic abilities requiring physical contact to employ.

Personality & Traits
Having been raised Romulan through primary school and as a displaced refugee in the Federation during her latter formative years, left her as a bit of an outcast socially. She doesn’t do well in neutral settings, crowds or music. Michelle, a name taken when she entered high school, prefers quiet corners and books to pass her time. Dour and sarcastic, she can be overly critical of herself and others. Quick to anger and with a surprising inner rage lurking below the surface of an attractive young woman, re’Ael is outwardly calm and serene, almost Vulcan to those who don’t know her. At darker moments she is barely in control of a deep pool of inner rage.
Michelle has a strong empathy for the defenseless and tends to side naturally with the underdog. It is this compassion and respect for all life forms that is her saving grace. She is courageous and steadfast in the defense of others.

Re’Ael grew up on a Farming world at the distant edge of the Romulan Empire. Her father was a quarter Vulcan, descended from a small band of travelers who had found their way to Romulan space while travelling in search of a path other than logic. When they arrived in Romulan space they found themselves in work camp after work camp, world after world.
Her mother, in turn, was the granddaughter of a Senator and a human captive from the first Human Romulan war. Aprios Archaea IV had been the last stop for each family in a string of mining, resource and fabrication worlds. Her parents met, married, had a daughter and lived a quiet rural life until the day their daughter was involved in an incident that attracted the local military presence. For their daughter’s safety they were forced to flee over the border out of Imperial space. To their surprise they found their way to a Federation Starbase. A long period of internal conflict in the Romulan Empire had allowed the Federation to encircle the Empire along it’s coreward border.
Re’Ael’s parents applied for and received asylum and the family moved far away from the Empire. Entering high school, re’Ael took the name Michelle, one she prefers to this day. But her efforts to fit in met with limited success. Academically she did exceptionally well, applying for and receiving entrance to Starfleet Academy. She found herself more accepted there than she had found in either Romulan or Human colony worlds.
