The J’tay

The J’tay are reclusive, xenophobic, arachnid humanoids. Their subterranean environment makes them sensitive to bright light and dry conditions. Their society is rumoured to be centred around mining and salvage and as such their technology is advanced in those areas. They have an inbuilt ability to find things, saying goes if you lost it they can find it. Their territory encompasses possibly half a dozen, mostly uninhabited systems, perhaps even reaching into Federation aligned space.
