USS Deimos Main Bridge Deck 1 MD 01 1200 hours
Ana sat in her command chair. She briefly closed her eyes and listened to the activity going on around her as her crew finished preparing the ship to depart the station. The Deimos was a lot smaller than the Normandy Class Barnsley which she'd served on as Security Chief and later XO, but it reminded her of the freighters she crewed on in her youth.
Opening her eyes moments later she said "Report."

Tanner sat at the flight controls, his fingers and eyes roaming its surface with characteristic surety. "Commander, helm reports all systems go. We have clearance from Starbase flight control for departure." He reported, his manner professional, his words sharp and concise. Meanwhile, he was musing on how to hang a set of fuzzy dice above the main viewscreen without anyone catching him doing it.

Chastity finished the list she had been compiling for the Captain. "Looks good Captain. Cargo hold doors and loading docks external hatches are green across the board. External Ramps disengaged and hatches secure. Umbilicals have been released and we are operating on internal power. Power distribution systems at normalized status. Damage control teams Able and Echo on standby for launch operations." She paused momentarily, running a quick test diagnostic. "Communications and Sensor Systems functioning normally. Operations signs off on independent flight operations."
"Lieutenant Muller patch me though to the crew."
"Ah, Ma'am"
"Belay that order, where's Commander Aekalu?"
When no one was able to answer that question Mars accessed the internal sensors and attempted to locate the Executive Officer. "Uhm, Ma'am, the computer isn't able to find her. As if she isn't on board."

At his station, Tanner swiveled his chair around to look at the captain and wonder if she ran over an old gypsy woman in a runabout shortly before being assigned. He shook his head a little at his own thoughts, turned back to his console and brought the ship's navigational array online. Once it was warmed up, he began an analysis on impulse ion trails no older than four hours old. Assuming Aekalu wasn't on the starbase or any of the starships moored there, it might be an abduction of some sort, and if that was the case, it might be best to take the initiative to find the people who had carried out the abduction, rather than wait and let the tracks get muddied more and more with each passing starship.

Could you send it too me?" Mars asked. "So we can start an investigation." She signaled the relief tactical officer to take her place. Mars really had trouble to this whole officer thing, especially with all those damn protocols.

Damage control teams Able and Echo on standby for launch operations." She paused momentarily, running a quick test diagnostic. "Communications and Sensor Systems functioning normally. Operations signs off on independent flight operations."
"Good to hear, okay Lieutenant Muller patch me though to the crew."
"Aye, Ma'am"
"Belay that order, where's Commander Aekalu?"
When no one was able to answer that question Mars accessed the internal sensors and attempted to locate the Executive Officer. "Uhm, Ma'am, the computer isn't able to find her. As if she isn't on board."
"What?" Ana exclaimed. "When was the last time the computer recorded her presence aboard?
Mars had double checked the data. "She isn't on board." she repeated. "Last known presence on board is 4 hours ago at the airlock."
"Okay patch me through to Starbase Operations."
Chastity did as ordered. "Connection established" she said
"Good afternoon, I'm Commander Chernova of the Deimos and I appear to have misplaced my XO. Would you be able to check if Lt. Commander Aekalu is on your Starbase, please?" Ana asked.
"Commander Chernova I'm sorry, but Lt. Commander Aekalu is not here." The Operations officer replied.
"Is there any record of her leaving?"
"No."
"Okay, then send me all the data you have on any ships that have left in the last 4 hours."
"Data sent."
"Information received" the Orion said after the completion of the download.
"Thanks, now clear us for departure."
"You are cleared for departure, Deimos. Safe journey."
"Mister Dale, take us out." Ana ordered.
Tanner's fingers danced across the console. "Aye, commander. Moorings are away, we are proceeding on course at a quarter impulse. I have... also taken the liberty of accessing the data provided by starbase flight control and matching it against particle traces in ambient space to project headings and courses of all non-Starfleet vessels from the starbase." Because she might want to act on the data before they made the jump to warp speed.
Could you send it too me?" Mars asked. "So we can start an investigation." She signaled the relief tactical officer to take her place. As she turned in the direction of the door she remembered something. "Captain, permission to leave the bridge to start an investigation towards the Commander's disappearance?" Mars really had trouble to this whole officer thing, especially with all those damn protocols.
"Excellent work, Mister Dale. Take us to warp as soon as we're clear of the system." Ana said. The turning to Mars she added. "Permission granted, Lieutenant, keep me in the loop."

USS Deimos - Deck 1 - Main Bridge MD 01 - 1200 hours
"Acknowledged, Lieutenant." Ana said. "Tactical?"
"All system are ready if needed." Mars replied.
"Let's hope we don't need them." Ana said.
"Operations?"

As they reached the perimeter of the starbase's control pattern, Tanner cranked up the speed to full impulse. "Aye commander." He responded to Ana's orders, setting to work crunching the numbers for their warp trajectory and musing on attaching a hula girl dashboard figurine to his console when the away team was conducting the planetary survey.
